al Mukalla

Al Mukalla is a city in the southern part of Yemen on the Gulf of Aden 480 km (300 mi) east of Aden. Seaport on the Hadhramaut coastal region of Yemen and is the main port of the province of Al Shahr. Historically it was a main trading destination for the trade between India and Africa.

It was ruled by the Sultanate of Quaiti until 1967 when it became a part of South Yemen and then of the larger Republic of Yemen.
