Äänekoski

Äänekoski is a town and municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality has a population of 13,703 (2003) and covers an area of 763.00 km² of which 163.68 km² is water. The population density is 22.9 inhabitants per km².

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

In 2004, the worst road accident ever in Finland happened, the Äänekoski bus disaster.
