Yaren

Yaren (area 1.5 km², population 1,100 in 2003), in earlier times Makwa, is a district and constituency of the island nation of Nauru, located in the south of the island. The district is located at 0°33%u2032S 166°55%u2032E (-0.55, 166.91667).

the Nauru International Airport and the air terminal
the Moqua Well

Yaren (and sometimes Aiwo) is usually listed as the capital of Nauru though this is incorrect; the republic does not have cities or an official capital. Yaren is accepted by the UN as the "main district". It returns 2 members to the Nauruan Parliament.
