Velika Kladuša is a town and municipality in the far northwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located near the border with Croatia. The closest cities are Cazin and a bit farther Bihać and Bosanski Novi. Across the border it's not far from Cetingrad. It is administratively part of the Una-Sana Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the 1991 census, the municipality of Velika Kladuša had 52,921 residents: 48,600 Bosniaks (92%), 2,261 Serbs (4.2%), 919 Yugoslavs (1.7%), 707 Croats (1.3), and 434 others (0.8%).
The town of Velika Kladuša itself had 14,469 residents of which 87% were Bosniaks, 5% Serbs, 4% Croats, 2% Yugoslavs, and 2% others.
