Tumut

Tumut is a town and local government area in New South Wales, Australia, approximately four hours drive south-west of Sydney. Tumut is geographically the same distance from both Sydney and Melbourne, and therefore Tumut was once considered as a possible site for national capital (however Canberra was chosen). Tumut is the gateway to the Snowy Mountains Scheme.
