The community of Sturgeon Falls is located in the District of Nipissing of northeastern Ontario and is part of the Municipality of West Nipissing. It is situated on the Sturgeon River north of Lake Nipissing and west of North Bay on Ontario provincial highway 17, part of the Trans-Canada Highway.
