Spruce Grove is a western suburb of Edmonton, Alberta. Its population is 18,405 (2005). Like nearby Stony Plain it is surrounded by Parkland County.
Spruce Grove is a vibrant city with plenty of business and housing opportunities. The Horizon stage is a centre for performing arts here, and its Tri-Municipal Leisure Centre provides a pool, soccer fields, a gymnasium, workout gym, and ice rinks to the people of Parkland County. As it is fifteen minutes from Edmonton, it is simple to travel there to shop when needed, which is not often, as the huge amount of businesses on the east end presents citizens with plenty of choice.
Spruce Grove has kilometres of bike trails, called the Heritage Grove Trail, where bike riders can ride for hours through lush forest.
Canadian Olympic skier Jennifer Heil hails from Spruce Grove, as does famous NHL goaltender Grant Fuhr. The local ice hockey arena is named after Fuhr.
