Ruili (simp.: 瑞丽市; trad.: 瑞麗市; Pinyin: Ruìlì Shì) is a city with 810,000 inhabitants and an area of 860 km² in the Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan province in the southwest of the People's Republic of China.
An older name of Ruili is Měngmǎo ��; ruì means "fortunate", and lì means "beautiful".
Ruili is on the border to Myanmar. More than half of the population of Ruili are members various national minorities, mostly Dai, Jingpo, Deang, Bai, Pumi etc.
Han Chinese and Dai mostly live in the valley, in the city; Jingpo and Deang live mostly in the outskirts in the sourrounding hills.
