Oulunsalo

Oulunsalo (Uleåsalo in Swedish) is a municipality in the province of Oulu, in Finland. The municipality is located in Northern Finland just south-west of the city of Oulu. The population of Oulunsalo is 8,915 (December 31, 2003) and the municipality covers an area of 81.65 km² (excluding sea areas) of which 0.87 km² is inland water (January 1, 2004). The population density is 110.4 inhabitants per km² (January 1, 2004). The municipality was founded in 1882.
