Moyale is a border town split between a larger Ethiopian area (which lies in the Oromia region) and a smaller Kenyan zone. It is the main border post on the Nairobi-Addis Ababa road, located at 3° 34' N and 39° 5' E. As of the 1994 census, the Ethiopian part of Moyale had 10,543 inhabitants.
This market town lies north of the Dide Galgalu Desert and is known for its traditional architecture.
