Mount Pearl is a city on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, in Division No. 1. Mount Pearl's Mayor Steve Kent is one of the youngest mayors in Canadian history. In recent years Mount Pearl has seen great growth especially in all sectors of the city. Donovan's Industrial Park continues to grows, residential continues to grow as more and more people move into the suburban city, and commercial growth is at an all-time high with the development of the Pearlgate Commercial Center. Mount Pearl does face problems as growth continues. It is bordered in by surrounding cities of St. John's and Paradise has has very little breathing room to grow.
