Mont Ngafula is a neigherborhood in the south of the city of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The neighborhood is situated in the hilly area of Kinshasa and is intersected by the Lukaya River valley in its southern portion. Residence in the area is relatively new and emerged in the 1970s as a home for the small number of upper and middle-class business executives, politicians and other people well-to-do by Kinshasa standards. However, many of the would-be extravagant compounds commissioned remain incomplete, mainly due to the drastic economic decline that characterized the latter portion of the Mobutu era.
