Mittersill is a market town in the federal state of Salzburg, Austria, in the Pinzgau region of the Alps. It is located at 47°17′N 12°29′E, on the Salzach river, with a population of 5,584 (2001).
It has two large industries, the Blizzard ski factory, and a flag factory, which provide jobs for the locals. It has a fair amount of tourist business as it is near to many ski runs, including Kitzbuhel and Pass Thurn, and is near Italy.
There is a Christian community which lives in Schloss Mittersill, situated above the valley, that provides training, study, and rest for Christians of all types from all over the world at any stage of life.
