Mafraq

Mafraq (Arabic المÙ?رق Al-Mafraq, local dialects Mafrag or Mafra' ) is one of the governorates of Jordan. Mafraq is also the capital of this governorate, located in crossroad to Syria to the north and Iraq to the east. It has 232,310 inhabitants (2000) with a percentage of 4.5% of Jordan's population. Mafraq is the capital of Mafraq Governorate (Arabic MuhÄ?fazat Al-Mafraq).
