Lishui (Simplified Chinese: 丽水市; Hanyu Pinyin: LÃshuÇ? Shì) is a prefecture-level city in southwestern Zhejiang province, People's Republic of China. It borders Quzhou, Jinhua and Taizhou to the north, Wenzhou to the southeast, and the province of Fujian to the southwest.
Lishui has a subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. The yearly average rainfall is 1400~2275mm, and the mean annual temperature is 11.5-18.3 degrees Celsius.
The Ou River runs past the city and deposits in the East China Sea.
It was established as Songyang County during the Eastern Han Dynasty. In 779 during Tang Dynasty, it was renamed Lishui County. In 1986 it was upgraded to Lishui city, and in 2000 became a prefect and has administration over the aforementioned cities and counties.
