Kimberley is a small mining town in British Columbia, Canada, located in the southeastern tip of the province, along Highway 95A in between the Purcell and Rocky Mountains. Kimberley was named in 1896 after the Kimberley mine in South Africa. From 1917 to 2001, it was the home to the world's largest lead and zinc mine, the Sullivan Mine.
Kimberley was incorporated as a city in 1944. It became the Bavarian City of the Rockies in the 1970s.
