Kangundo

This is one the area in Machakos that is growing very fast. Its registered voters now number well over 90,000 voters and the total population is over 200,000. The contstituency has been gazetted by the Kenya government to be elevated to District status, last year. It has a busy market at Tala only a few kilometres from Kangundo hospital and adminstration town. Here business people from all over Kenya converge to trade. Tuesday of every week is a good day to visit this Market town. Tala houses the Kangundo Town council, there are several good places to eat and drink. Rececently the famous Tala Motel has been renovated and will soon be opened with modern restaurants, function hall and accommodation. Akamba traditional Dancers and many other events will be held there to entertain the patrons. The area is good for walking it is surrounded by hills with breath take view from the top. The famaous Yathui Rock near Katulye shopping centre giving you a view of Yatta, Matuu, Masinga and Kitui. Come and visit.

Kangundo till today has some of the best agricultural produce, coffee, Maize, horticultural products and many more. You will find a wind selection of good schools and training colleges set at a very high standard. There are banks like Kenya Commercial Bank, Western Union money transfer and good transport to Nairobi till late. There are also good Taxi services to all parts of Kangundo any time day or night.
