Grude

KNOWLEDGE OF Grude

Grude is a town and municipality in western Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in the region of Herzegovina.

In the 1991 census, the municipality of Grude had a population of 15,976 residents, of which there were 15,939 Croats (99.77%), 8 Serbs (0.05%), 4 Bosniaks (0.03%), 4 Yugoslavs (0.03%), and 21 others (0.13%). The town of Grude had 3,528 residents: nearly 100% being Croats.

Grude was the birthplace of Andrijica Šimić, the hajduk and Antun Branko Šimić, the poet.

The town is home to the football club NK Grude. NK Drinovci is also based nearby in the town of Drinovci (located in the same municipality). The radio station Radio Grude is broadcast from the town.
