Canoas

Canoas is the 3rd largest city in the Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. It´s population is about 350 thousand people. The city is linked to Porto Alegre, and it concentrates important industries and the Canoas Aereal Base, used by Brazilian Army.

Canoas also is called as "cidade dormitório" (it can be called "bedroom city"), because thousand people go to Porto Alegre for working, and com back to the city only for sleeping and stay with the family. Both cities are linked to BR-116, the most important road in Rio Grande do Sul, and it´s suffers traffic jam at the rush time.
