Bosanski Novi, is a town and municipality in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated on the river Una on the border with Croatia (across the town of Dvor), near the towns of Prijedor, Bosanska Krupa and Bosanska Kostajnica. It is administratively part of the Republika Srpska.
In the census of 1991, the municipality of Novi Grad had 41,541 residents, of which 25,083 were Bosniaks (60.90%), 14,106 Serbs (33.44%), 1,531 Yugoslavs (3.69%), 402 Croats (0.97%), and 419 others (1.01%). The town of Novi Grad itself had 13,500 inhabitants, of which 51% were Bosniaks, 38% Serbs, 8% Yugoslavs, 1% Croats and 2% others.
