Asosa

Asosa is the capital of the Benishangul-Gumuz region (or killoch) of Ethiopia. It is located at latitude 10° 54 north and longitude 34° 31', with an elevation of 1570 meters. As of 1994, it had a population of 11,749.

It has an airport with an unpaved runway.

During the Ethiopian Civil War, with help from the Tigrayan People's Liberation Front, the Oromo Liberation Front captured Asosa from the Derg in February 1991, and held the city for a brief time.
