Almeida

Almeida is a municipality in the District of Guarda, Portugal, with an area of 520 km² and 8 423 inhabitants (2001), subdivided into 29 freguesias.

Almeida Castle, in that same town, is also a strong fortress in the province of Beira, on the Spanish frontier of Portugal.
