Alamance is a village located in Alamance County, North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 310.

Alamance is located at 36°1'40" North, 79°29'20" West (36.027672, -79.488863).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²). 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is land and 1.37% is water.

As of the census of 2000, there are 310 people, 148 households, and 92 families residing in the village. The population density is 168.6/km² (434.7/mi²). There are 161 housing units at an average density of 87.6/km² (225.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 97.10% White, 1.29% African American, 0.65% Native American, 0.32% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. 0.32% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 148 households out of which 18.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.9% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.8% are non-families. 35.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 20.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.09 and the average family size is 2.65.

In the village the population is spread out with 17.7% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 24.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 87.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.5 males.
