The Aberdare National Park covers the higher areas of the Aberdare Range of central Kenya, and the Aberdare Salient to their east.
Founded in 1980, the national park includes both moorland and rainforest and is known for its wildlife, including black rhinos and black leopards. Other notable features include several waterfalls, such as the 300m-high Gura Falls.
The park is entirely enclosed by an electric fence designed to prevent animals from leaving.
